About me

Guten Tag! Bonjour! Hello! My name is Marion Reuter. I grew up in southern Germany, studied social work, gathered some professional experience, and eventually packed my bags and headed to Paris in 1993.

After 27 years in France I understand all levels of written and spoken French and speak like a native. With Paris being such an international city, I have also managed to maintain and even improve my English. People who hear me speak often mistake me for a Brit (maybe because I look like one? ;-).

Over the past two decades I have worked in a variety of professional environments, including: a city youth agency, a Franco-German association, a small DYI business, an international organization, and a global corporation in the IT field. For several years, I have run my own business as an intercultural consultant and have helped the families of foreign executives get settled in Paris.

Eventually, the time came for me to combine my intercultural knowledge with my love for languages, and to earn an M.A. in translation from ESIT in Paris. I now work as a freelance translator for agencies and direct clients.

Living in a different country for so long has opened my mind to the very different ways in which people think. It has taught me to look at a text closely and take into account all the cultural background that is implicitly present when a person expresses himself or herself.

If you’d like more information or are interested in a quote for a translation project, I’d be happy to hear from you by email or by telephone.

Thanks for your visit!
